Hand dyed Merino wool and nylon yarn in a OOAK variant (trial 7) of the Yarntuary colorway “Upside Down”, inspired by pineapple upside down cake and named after the song by Jack Johnson.
Colors represented in the yarn are the yellow of pineapple, the warm golden color of the soaked cake, whipped cream and cherry red!
This is a wild colorway intended to make garments that pop! It looks best paired with denim, black, white, pink and chartreuse.
What’s makes this variant different from the final colorway? There isn’t as much differentiation between the pineapple and cake colors, the placement of colors is different, the pineapple and cake colors are warmer, the red is cooler in tone and there’s a random touch of bright pink by accident, which I think is cool!
This yarn is soft and lovely to work with. You can use it to make socks, shawls, scarves and other garments.
It is an 80% Merino wool, 20% Nylon, 3-ply, superwash sock yarn composed of 400 yd/366 m, 100g.
Due to the nature of the process, each hank is unique. There is not one that is exactly like another.
The yarn has been dyed using professional acid dyes and thoroughly rinsed in order to prevent bleeding, but I would still recommend hand washing on its own for the first wash.
Hand wash garments made with this yarn in room temperature water or machine wash on gentle cycle in cool water with low spin. Air dry.
