Hand dyed Merino wool sock-weight yarn in a OOAK variant (trial 2) of the Yarntuary colorway “Velvet”, inspired by red velvet cake (two-tiered) and named after the song by KIRBY.
Colors represented in the yarn are the rich reddish maroon of the cake and cream of the icing. Looks delicious, but don’t eat it!
The main difference between the final colorway and this variant is there is more red in the variant and a purplish bleed coming off of the red color.
This yarn is soft and gorgeous. It is perfect for socks, shawls, scarves, and other accessories!
It is a 2-ply sock/fingering weight, superwash, 100% Merino wool yarn. It contains 399 yd and weighs 100 g.
The bare wool is sourced from suppliers that do not perform mulesing.
The yarn has been dyed using professional acid dyes and thoroughly rinsed in order to prevent bleeding, but I would still recommend hand washing on its own for the first wash.
Hand wash garments made with this yarn in room temperature water or machine wash on gentle cycle in cool water with low spin. Air dry.
