🎧 "In the land of gods and monsters,
I was an angel
Living in the garden of evil
Screwed up, scared, doing anything that I needed
Shining like a fiery beacon... – “Gods and Monsters” by Lana Del Rey
This listing is for a batch of three hanks of hand dyed Merino wool, cashmere and nylon superwash sock/fingering weight yarn in a variant of the color Gods and Monsters, named after the song by Lana Del Rey.
This is a batch of variants made during Trial 4 of experimentation for the colorway and it will not be reproduced. Although variants are normally one of a kind, these hanks were made using the same dye lot, etc. and so make up a small variant batch.
What makes these variants different from the final colorway is 1) the blueish purple is lighter, 2) the black in this variant is striped across the blueish purple areas whereas in the final colorway it is striped across the green and dotted across the blueish purple.Â
This yarn is ridiculously cool looking. It would give any item you choose to make with it a unique and modern feel. The colors in the yarn are a creepy light green, a deep blueish purple and black.Â
This yarn is luxurious and soft. It can be used to make socks and other items such as scarves, shawls, cowls, and sweaters.
The yarn is 80% Superwash Merino Wool, 10% Cashmere, 10% nylon (425 yd/388m, 100g/3.5 oz, weight 1).
Each hank is dyed by hand and due to the nature of the process, each one is unique. There is not one that is exactly like another. If working with more than one hank in a project, it is recommended to switch between hanks every few rows.
The yarn has been dyed using professional acid dyes and thoroughly rinsed in order to prevent bleeding, but I would still recommend hand washing on its own for the first wash.
Hand wash items made with this yarn in room temperature water or machine wash on gentle cycle in cool water with low spin. Air dry.
