🎧When she said "Don't waste your words they're just lies"
I cried she was deaf
And she worked on my face
Until breaking my eyes
And saying "What else you got left"... - Bob Dylan

This listing is for the “Fourth Time Around” Scarf crochet pattern, PDF instant download, named after the song by Bob Dylan.

When designing this scarf, the first color in this yarn I used was pumpkin, a beautiful toasty orange color with creamy white spots and thread with orange and maroon tones. The song “Fourth Time Around” was featured in my favorite movie, Vanilla Sky, which is filled with scenes that occur in fall.

Trust me – you want to make this scarf. The texture and feel of the thick and thin yarn is wonderful and very pretty worked up using the pattern! The stitching along with the color and contrast between the thick and thin areas of the yarn really makes this scarf eye catching. And, it is very toasty warm!

The scarf looks good hanging around the neck and wrapped around once (my favorite way to wear it). If you wear it wrapped once, you can leave it tall for extra warmth, and to cover a bit of your face for those extra cold days, or fold the portion that goes over the front of the neck in half, which looks nice and creates the look of a collar. You can also fold it in half, hang it over your neck with the fold at the right side, then pull the part on the left side with the fringe through the fold.

This would be an amazing gift to give this holiday season to impress your friends and relatives and does not take a long time to make, approximately 6-8 hours!

Materials used 3 skeins Buttercream Luxe Craft Thick and Thin (52% Wool, 48% Acrylic, 92 yds/84 m, 140g/5 oz, colors featured in pictures are pumpkin, anemone, rust and storm cloud), P hook and a tapestry needle. If you don’t have a tapestry needle you can probably get away without using one as there is practically no weaving in of ends. The ends that remain become part of the fringe, but the tapestry needle can be used to reposition them (you can also use your fingers).

You used to be able to get this yarn at Joann in a great variety of colors, but now you may have to search Etsy or Ebay to find it. The pumpkin color is a beautiful blend that appears as orange, white/cream and brown/grey. It is perfect for the fall season, as well as the holiday season – it would look great with forest green and antique Christmas-like pink! The rust color has a boutique look and would look great with white, cream and black.

Stitches used in this pattern are chains, half double crochet, slip stitches and single crochet. These stitches are easy to master and if you don’t know how to do any of them, there are plenty of quick and easy tutorials and videos out there.

This pattern is written in a very, clear and detailed manner, with pictures of course! I don’t anticipate you getting stuck as you work through the pattern, but if you do, you can reach out to me through Etsy or through the email I list in the pattern. Your happiness is super important to me!
