Merino wool superwash sock/fingering yarn hand dyed in the Yarntuary colorway “No Regrets”, named after the song “Non, je ne regrette rien” by Edith Piaf, which she later recorded in English as “No Regrets”.
The song is so powerful of brings me to tears each time I listen, but at the same time makes me feel free as do the colors of the flowers and blue sky in the yarn.
For some reason, before I even remembered what the song was, I was hearing the rhythm of the song in my head and at the same time seeing a woman sitting in a large window in a bathroom, looking out at the buildings and blue sky up above. In the bathroom I imagined a vintage looking white hand towel with a yellow flower having an orange center.
Because I was so overtaken by the image, I decided I wanted to create a colorway that captured the blue sky and colors of the vintage hand towel.
Once I realized the song, it fit perfectly!
This yarn is soft and lovely to work with. You can use it to make socks, shawls, scarves and other garments.
It is an 80% Merino wool, 20% Nylon, 3-ply, superwash sock yarn composed of 400 yd/366 m, 100g
The bare wool is sourced from suppliers that do not perform mulesing.
Each hank is dyed by hand and due to the nature of the process, each one is unique. There is not one that is exactly like another. If working with more than one hank in a project, it is recommended to switch between hanks every few rows.
The yarn has been dyed using professional acid dyes and thoroughly rinsed in order to prevent bleeding, but I would still recommend hand washing on its own for the first wash.
Hand wash garments made with this yarn in room temperature water or machine wash on gentle cycle in cool water with low spin. Air dry.
