Sparkly Merino wool superwash sock/fingering yarn hand dyed in the Yarntuary colorway Lake Rita, named after the song by Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon off his 2020 album Namesake, one of my favorite albums of all time.
This song in particular strikes a cord each time I listen to it. The dark blue color of the yarn was meant to be the color of the sky over the lake, a peaceful dark blue. The silver sparkles running through it remind me of stars.
It is a 3-ply fingering weight, superwash, sock yarn, composed of 70% Merino wool, 20% nylon and 10% stellina. It contains 400 yd and weighs 100 g.
The bare wool comes from South America and is sourced from suppliers that do not perform mulesing.
The yarn has been hand dyed using professional acid dyes and thoroughly rinsed in order to prevent bleeding, but it is still recommended to hand wash garments made from this yarn on their own for the first wash.
Hand wash garments made with this yarn in room temperature water or machine wash on gentle cycle in cool water with low spin. Air dry.
