Hand dyed Merino wool and nylon sock-weight yarn in a OOAK variant (trial 5) of the Yarntuary colorway “Birds of a Feather”, inspired by lovebird parrots and named after the song by Billie Eilish.
The bold and vibrant colors in this yarn represent the beautiful tropical feathers of the parrot, reddish orange, orangish yellow, bright yellow, green and deep blue. They also remind me of the colors you would see in heat signatures or thermal imaging.
The biggest differences between this variant and the final colorway are the green is lighter and the reddish orange is more orange.
The yarn is a yummy, fingering weight, 2-ply, superwash, sock yarn (weight 1), composed of 80% superwash merino wool and 20% recycled nylon. It contains 400 yd and weighs 100 g.
It works up really beautifully and can be used for a wide range of projects, such as socks, sweaters, scarves and more!
As with all Yarntuary yarn, each hank of yarn is dyed individually by hand.
The yarn has been dyed using professional acid dyes and thoroughly rinsed in order to prevent bleeding, but I would still recommend hand washing on its own for the first wash.
Hand wash garments made with this yarn in room temperature water or machine wash on gentle cycle in cool water with low spin. Air dry.
