Merino wool sock/fingering weight yarn hand dyed in a one-of-a-kind variant (trial 17) of the Yarntuary colorway “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot like Christmas”, named after the song by Perry Como & the Fontane Sisters.
This colorway was inspired by those seasonal Christmas tree cakes we are all so used to seeing around the holidays! Each features the colors of the red stripes and green sprinkles on white icing, as well as the cake and cream inside!
The main differences that make this variant different from the final colorway are that the red and green are warmer and the cake color is warmer and darker.
The yarn is soft and versatile as it can be used to make socks as well as shawls, scarves and other garments.
It is a fingering/sock (weight 1), superwash, 4 ply yarn, composed of 80% Merino wool, 10% cashmere and 10% nylon. Each hank contains ~437 yd and weighs 100 g. This listing is for one hank.
The yarn has been dyed using professional acid dyes and thoroughly rinsed in order to prevent bleeding, but I would still recommend hand washing on its own for the first wash.
Hand wash garments made with this yarn in room temperature water or machine wash on gentle cycle in cool water with low spin. Air dry.
