Merino wool and nylon superwash sock/fingering yarn hand dyed in a one of a kind variant of the Yarntuary colorway “Moment 4 Life”, which was made during colorway design.
This is trial #3. How is it different from the final version? The pink icing is warmer in color, closer to a candy pink and the cake is also warmer, more of a golden tan. The hot pink topper is also warmer and is really pretty and vibrant.
The colorway is named after the song by Nicki Minaj and inspired by Dorian Hunter (season 10 winner of Master Chef) and her pink Champagne cake.
Going from hearing Dorian talk about coming from a job where she worked just to pay the bills and then seeing her show off her talent and win the competition was a true inspiration for me.
The yarn, like the cake, has three layers of cake color and three layers of icing color, as well as cream and warm hot pink, which represent the toppings Dorian made for her cake.
This colorway is sweet, unique, fun and girly!
This yarn is luxurious and soft. The ply is gorgeous. It can be used to make socks, shawls, sweaters and other garments.
It is a fingering weight, superwash, sock yarn, composed of 80% Merino wool and 20% nylon. It contains approximately 400 yd and weighs 100 g.
The yarn has been dyed using professional acid dyes and thoroughly rinsed in order to prevent bleeding, but I would still recommend hand washing on its own for the first wash.
Hand wash garments made with this yarn in room temperature water or machine wash on gentle cycle in cool water with low spin. Air dry.
The bare wool is sourced from suppliers that do not perform mulesing.
