PDF (instant-download) of the Easy Living Scarf Crochet Pattern, named after the song by Billie Holiday.

This pattern was designed to give you something EASY and gorgeous to make with one colorful hand dyed hank of sock weight yarn, but the best thing is: ANY WEIGHT yarn can be used to make this scarf so it’s perfect for stash busting!

This one is definitely for those who prefer mindless crochet! Most of the scarf/infinity is made by repeating two easy rows.

Although the pattern uses basic stitches in a simple way, it works up really pretty. Use a fun color to make it stand out!

The level of this pattern is BEGINNER, but it's satisfying for any level. In this pattern you will learn to make a slip knot, chain, single crochet and half double crochet!

The pattern contains clear, detailed instructions and pictures, as well as an additional section at the end with step by step instructions and photos for ALL stitches used (chain, single crochet, half double crochet) ! There are even photos on how to make a slip knot (needed to start any crochet project).

Specifics are given in the pattern on how to make a scarf with ONE HANK of sock/fingering weight, but makes it easy to customize if different yarn or yarn weight is chosen.

Beginner crocheters often learn to crochet on thicker yarn, so you can either practice this pattern with thicker yarn and then try it in sock weight or simply use thicker yarn.

Customizing this pattern to use with any yarn is EASY! The scarf is worked width-wise, so to change the width, you'll just chain at the beginning until you have the desired width! To get the desired length, you'll just continue the repeat rows until you are satisfied!

This is one you can wear 3/4 seasons of the year. It is light and less wide so you can throw it around your neck in a flash and not have to worry about fussing with it.

Measurements (inches Width x Length): 4.5 x 75

Materials:

1 hank of Yarntuary 80% Merino Wool, 10% Cashmere, 10% Nylon Yarn; color Century Man shown (425 yds, 100 g, weight 1) and size D (3.0 mm) crochet hook

Tapestry needle & Scissors

Knit-blockers (optional: if want to pin ends of scarf after wet blocking for straighter edges)

Idea: Add hanks of yarn to make a shawl! If use 2 or 3 hanks of yarn, simply multiply the number of the starting chain by 2 or 3.
