Hand dyed Merino wool, cashmere and nylon weight 1 yarn in a OOAK variant (trial 6) of the Yarntuary colorway “Velvet”, inspired by red velvet cake (two-tiered) and named after the song by KIRBY.
Colors represented in the yarn are the rich reddish maroon of the cake and cream of the icing. Looks delicious, but don’t eat it!
The main difference between the final colorway and this variant is this variant is warmer in tone.
The yarn is soft and versatile as it can be used to make socks as well as shawls, scarves and other garments.
It is a fingering/sock (weight 1), superwash, 4 ply yarn, composed of 80% Merino wool, 10% cashmere and 10% nylon. Each hank contains ~437 yd and weighs 100 g. This listing is for one hank.
The yarn has been dyed using professional acid dyes and thoroughly rinsed in order to prevent bleeding, but I would still recommend hand washing on its own for the first wash.
Hand wash garments made with this yarn in room temperature water or machine wash on gentle cycle in cool water with low spin. Air dry.
