🎧 “Cause’ I’m not going back
To the way I used to be
No more, no more, no more
Hey love, show me what it’s like to be free”

– Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon

This listing is for a PDF (instant-download) of the Lake Rita Shawl Crochet Pattern, named after the song by Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon.

You can use any worsted weight yarn and lighter to make this shawl. The pattern tells you how to make it using Yarntuary sock/fingering (weight 1) yarn or Lion Brand Jeans, a weight 4 yarn. You can use either weight or any weight in between (or even weight 0).

The shawl is made from top to triangle tip. There really isn’t anything special you need to do if using a yarn weight other than the ones listed in the pattern. Simply follow the instructions and stop the repeat rows when you’ve reached the desired size (just be sure to leave a little yarn to do a row of edging across the top).

The pattern contains clear, detailed instructions and pictures, as well as an additional section at the end with step by step instructions and photos for ALL stitches used!

Wear the shawl in three ways: 1) Hold it out in front of you and wrap it around your neck, 2) Hold it so the bottom triangle tip is at your side (pointing down arm) and wrap it around your neck, 3) Bring it behind you, against your back, and let it hang over your shoulders.

The shawl is beautiful and the pattern is very easy.

Materials:

3 hanks Yarntuary Sparkle Sock (70% Merino Wool, 20% nylon, 10% stellina, 400 yd, 100g)

Size E (3.5 mm) crochet hook

or

3 skeins Lion Brand Jeans

Size I (5.5 mm) crochet hook

Tapestry needle

If using wool yarn: knit blockers or rust-proof pins for blocking

Measurement (inches):

With Yarntuary Yarn: 28 tall down middle; 46 wide across top, 34.5 wide along sides

With Lion Brand Jeans: 28.5 tall down middle; 45.5 wide across top, 34 wide along sides

The skill level of this pattern is advanced beginner. You only need to master one stitch and the pattern tells you how to do it step-by-step. There is a section at the end that will help any beginner start to crochet with instructions and pictures showing how to make a sl knot, how to chain, etc.

To print without pictures, “Select All” in PDF and paste to a Word document.
